ABOUT DEPARTMENT

The ECE department was started in the Year 1997 with an intake of 60.

The department boasts of dedicated faculty with an average teaching experience of more than 5 years.

This department strives not only for the academic excellence of the students but also lays emphasis on the holistic development of the students.

Faculties are encouraged to attend technical seminars hosted by VTU affiliated colleges and premier institute like IITs to upgrade their technical skills.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The department is located in an area of 8000 sq.ft. The labs are well equipped with about 50 computer units of high performance.

It has Lecture halls, Departmental Library, Faculty room, and Laboratories.

The major Laboratories are:

  • Analog Electronics Circuits Lab
  • Power Electronics Lab
  • Analog Communication & Lic Lab
  • VLSI Lab/HDL Lab
  • DSP Lab / Microcontroller Lab / mp Lab
  • Advanced Communication Lab
  • Logic Design Lab

RESULT ANALYSIS

The final Year students are performing consistently with a pass percentage of 98%.

And most of the students are placed in reputed companies through the Placement Cell.

5 Faculties achieved 100% Results in University Exams.

ACHIEVEMENTS

    • Twelve Faculties have Presented Thirty-one Papers in various National/International Conferences.
    • The students’ intake has been upgraded from 60 to 120 in the academic year 2012-13.
    • A postgraduate course in Digital Electronics and Communications has been started with an intake of 18 students from the academic year 2012-13.
  • Most of the teachers have participated in Mission 10X a faculty development program initiated by Azim Premji foundation on innovative teaching methodologies to face today’s world of global competition.

RESEARCH

Two Faculties have registered for Ph.D.

Faculties have Presented Thirty-one Papers in various National/International Conferences.

The department of ECE had organized two day National Conference on 28th and 29th of March 2014 at A.P.S. College of Engineering campus, on Emerging Technologies on Electronics and Communication Engineering.

CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In addition to leading students towards academic excellence, we emphasize their overall development through co-curricular activities.

Our department students has participated in several sports such as Throw ball, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Cricket, Athletics tournament and cultural events such as Pot painting, Pencil Sketching, Nail Art, Rangoli, Mehandi, Cooking without fire, Sudoku, Antakshari, Solo & Group dance etc. & played vital role in securing prizes.

ECE-Electronics & Communication Engineering is a course of applying scientific principles to the design and development, fabrication, repair & maintenance of Electrical/Electronic Machines, Instruments and Communication systems.   It is a core subject which has enormous job opportunities in either hardware or software field. What kind of Infrastructure is available in the department?

The department has state of the art, modern and well-equipped Laboratories. One separate laboratory course is associated with core course in the undergraduate program. Some of the prominent Labs are VLSI lab, Advanced Communication Lab, Embedded Systems and Microcontroller Lab, Computer Network Lab, etc.
